52 Bible Verses about Holiness

God is holy. He is perfect and without sin. God created us in his image, to share in his holiness and perfection. These Bible verses about holiness command us to be holy because God is holy.

God has sanctified us, setting us apart from the world to serve him through the gift of his son Jesus Christ. Jesus forgives us of our sin, and the Holy Spirit empowers us to live holy lives that honor God.

Several times throughout the Bible, Christian leaders pray for the holiness of the church.

If you want to be faithful to the scriptures, pray for holiness. Ask God to help you to be holy. Confess your sin to God and ask Him to forgive you. Then ask Him to cleanse you from all unrighteousness, and submit to the leading of the Holy Spirit.

God loves us and wants the very best for our lives. He doesn’t want us to be trapped in spiritual bondage. He desires for us to share in the freedom that comes from holiness.

The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil. No one born of God makes a practice of sinning, for God's seed abides in him, and he cannot keep on sinning because he has been born of God. By this it is evident who are the children of God, and who are the children of the devil: whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is the one who does not love his brother.
